As I thought I would trace the 3d character animation in 2d software. I had to convert the 3d animation video in to Images and trace each and every frame. or the key frame to make the 2d character for smooth animation. but it’s taking long as I have to trace each and every frame then. I started to think if there’s any alternative to this problem. I started looking for hybrid films with used 2d paint on 3d model I came across some movies like Arcane: League of Legends Arjun: The Warrior Prince Arcane: League of Legends 3d models or rigged and textured them to 2d animation style to avoid frame by frame animation and have smooth animation with less time
RIGGING I am still confused weather to do my animation in 3d or hybrid, i wanted to play safe and at the same time i want my work to support my research. which is why i did the rigging of both characters roy rig character ben rig character
Complete Maya model Convert to OBJ format Upload OBJ to Maximo software Search the gesture ( walk,fall,crawl,etc) Download it from the Maximo Import to the scene in maya Note - we can only download the moments but not facial expressions
